Facebook has stolen my (blogging) soul...

Facebook has sapped my will to blog. According to my shrink (Alan), 'I don't know what to write because I have been expressing the things that are meaningful in other ways' (ie on Facebook).

There are various ways in which one may express oneself on Facebook (the obvious one being the "status"). Though these are only small, it's still enough to sate the desire of self-expression.

As a curiosity, there are many different ways of making funny little smileys in the Facebook chat. (Which, incidentally, has probably made the end of MSN, etc, but perhaps not as it has an annoying habit of dropping out). For example :v renders a little pacman-esque face, which provides minutes of fun when combined with ......... What joy.

Facebook can be subtly addictive (probably releases dopamine or something). I find myself just 'loitering' in the hope of something happening. Loitering is a process different from 'Idling'. Idling is just having it sitting idle in another window, Loitering is the immensely timewasting process of checking it, rechecking it, looking at a random person's photos with people you've never met (and unlikely to ever meet), checking yet again, adding an application, removing said absurd application, rechecking... etc. Hideous. Loitering on Facebook should be made an offence.

So in light of this, I hereby declare that I will no longer loiter in a public Facebook.

So, here is a blog post, in spite of everything. Even if it IS all about Facebook.

Happy now Alan?
